Study abroad from the University of Shiga Prefecture
1. Study abroad
- Study abroad and leave of absence
For students going to study abroad to earn credits, the status will be study abroad. For students going abroad for language study, the status will be leave of absence.
The period for study abroad can be counted as the maximum duration of study and the period of attendance.
2. Exchange program
- JCMU (Japan Center for Michigan Universities) (about 2 students)
This is a program to provide opportunities to study at one of 15 JCMU consortium member universities. The university to be selected is in accordance with the desired field of study, and specialized subjects are to be studied at the university. To study with this program, students must meet the TOEFL score requirement set by the respective university.
- Hunan Normal University (not more than 10 students)
This is a program to study at Hunan Normal University, College of International Chinese Language and Culture. Lectures are offered mainly in Chinese. Chinese proficiency is not a prerequisite.
- Hunan Agricultural University (not more than 2 students)
This is a program to study at Hunan Agricaltural University, Natural Science. Lectures are offered mainly in Chinese. Chinese proficiency is not a prerequisite.
3. Short-term training
- United States, Michigan State. Training at Lake Superior State University.
Three week training is offered in August. The training is English classes, field trips,and cultural experiences. The training is counted for credit as humanity courses "Cross-Cultural Studies A."
- Republic of China, Hunan Province. Training at Hunan Normal University.
Three week training is offered in March. The training is Chinese classes, Chinese cultural experiences, and field trips to neighboring areas. The training is counted for credit as humanity courses "Cross-Cultural Studies B."
